About the BSL Library

The BSL Library team are information specialists with expertise in sourcing, managing and sharing high-quality evidence. We provide trusted access to relevant and authoritative information to support BSL’s research, policy, programs and practice. We are located at the BSL Head Office in Fitzroy.

We work with colleagues across the organisation, as well as external users including academics, researchers, journalists, students and partners in the not-for-profit sector.

Our services

We offer a range of tailored library and research services to support evidence-informed work, including:

  • Research support: literature searches and tailored research requests
  • Information and enquiry service: responsive support to help you find the right information quickly
  • Curated resources: subject lists and monthly blogs
  • Access to collections: books, reports and other digital resources through our catalogue
  • Access to organisational history and archives: BSL Timeline and archival collections

Library membership

Signing up to the library gives you access to:

  • Borrowing from our physical collection
  • Updates on new acquisitions through our weekly updates newsletter

For BSL staff, we can post books directly to you if you are unable to visit the library location, making it easy to access physical resources wherever you are based.

Please contact the BSL Library team for help using our resources, submitting a research request, or signing up for membership.

Acknowledgement of Country

The Brotherhood of St. Laurence acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land and waterways on which our organisation operates. We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders past and present.
