Academic journals provide a platform for research articles by specialists (academics or practicing professionals) within a discipline to present, scrutinise and discuss research. Recent Journal issues from some of the major publishers are provided below, as an opportunity to inform colleagues about new content.

Podcasts & Streaming

  • A society free from poverty: how do we get there and what would it look like? London School of Economics. The event challenges the old adage, 'The poor will always be with us', by envisaging a future free from poverty. The speakers will identify the gains for children and for society as a whole from ending child poverty and the gains for workers, families and the economy from ending bad jobs.
  • NDIS Deep Dive with Minister Jenny McAllister. Reasonable & Necessary. Host Dr George Taleporos sits down with Minister Jenny McAllister for her first in-depth interview since taking on the NDIS portfolio. The Minister talks openly about her priorities, the changes already underway, and how she plans to work with the disability community.
  • Stonking majorities, weak mandates: Democracy Sausage with Mark Kenny. Political scientists Jill Sheppard and Pat Leslie join Democracy Sausage to ask whether the Albanese government is strategically waiting or simply drifting through its second term.
  • Trump, Albo and (Saint?) Kevin: Episode 170, Australia in the World. The much-anticipated face-to-face meeting between Prime Minister Albanese and President Trump has happened, not in the Oval Office but the Cabinet Room of the White House.
