In October, 1991 the Association's name was changed to Aged Care Australia Incorporated and on 4 September 1999 the Association's name was changed to Aged and Community Services Australia to reflect the broader services provided by members. More than 85,200 permanent residents (52%) had a recorded diagnosis of dementia at 30 June 2011.
