The research was initiated by BSL to evaluate their current retail offering through the eyes of their customers. Consequently, the ACRS undertook secondary research, a competitor analysis (focusing on three competitors selected by BSL), a financial analysis and a customer questionnaire. The customer questionnaire formed the major component of this research. The purpose of the questionnaire was to identify who BSL customers are, to determine customer perceptions regarding BSL stores, discover the reasons why customers shop at BSL stores, and understand the factors that influence how often customers shop and how much they spend. These results will enable BSL to increase customer satisfaction and to enhance the shopping experience within BSL stores.
