Filling the gap service model : integrated post crisis response for women and children who have experienced family violence / by Desmond, Kathy | Good Shepherd Youth and Family Service. Publisher: Collingwood, Vic. Good Shepherd Youth and Family Service 2011Description: PDF.Online Access: Electronic copy Notes: April 2011Summary: The report addresses a number of long-standing gaps in existing service provisions which make it harder for many women leaving situations of violence to rebuild their lives. The model draws upon extensive primary research commissioned by Good Shepherd Youth & Family Service, in addition to research reports undertaken by a number of community sector and government bodies. The model recommends complementing existing service provisions to create a systematic response for women and children who require more targeted and longer term support than the current Victorian Integrated Family Violence Service System provides.Availability:

Smiling for the first time : bankruptcy for people with mental illness - what happens when credit code remedies fail? / by Ryan, Martin | Good Shepherd Youth and Family Service | Kliger, Beverley | Healy, Bill. Publisher: Collingwood, Vic. Good Shepherd Youth & Family Service 2010Description: vi, 27 p. : ill.Notes: September 2010Summary: People with a mental illness are amongst the most vulnerable and marginalised people in society due to their mental illness. Often they live in poverty on a limited Centrelink income and are faced with additional expenses. They experience social exclusion; being excluded from education, employment and housing as well as financial exclusion. At the same time they may have the burden of low self-esteem and impaired judgement due to their mental illness. Being in receipt of a government income and having a long-term illness or disability are the strongest predictors of debt.Availability: Items available for loan: Brotherhood of St Laurence (1).
