This study undertakes to review some of the huge body of information now available about parenting programmes. The aim is to discover how much is currently known about the usefulness and scope of parent skills training programmes for parents at different family life-stages and in different social settings and circumstances and, in particular, what is known about practices concerned with their delivery. ; The findings have been arranged in four sections: ; -interventions for parents of babies and very young children ; -interventions for parents of children in middle childhood ; -programmes for parents of teenagers ; -programmes for parents of children of all ages ; The research is drawn from meta-analyses and systematic reviews of evaluations of parent skills training programmes and the findings from these studies and reviews are clearly summarised at the end of the report.
