The Government asked the Victorian Competition and Efficiency Commission (VCEC) to assess the potential for increased sharing of government and community facilities in metropolitan and regional Victoria, in relation to existing and new facilities. In its final report, the VCEC identified 24 recommendations with focus on better information, improving funding-based incentives, governance and commercial arrangements, and long-term opportunities to increase sharing. This document details the Government's response to each recommendation. The Treasurer released the Government response on 12 March 2010.
