One of the aims of this study was to elicit data that may provide helpful advice to teachers in their quest to meet the learning needs of their Sudanese learners. The participants in the study were specialist teachers of adult English language, literacy and numeracy who were currently teaching adult Sudanese refugee learners, mostly from southern Sudan, and other professionals assisting Sudanese refugees in the settlement process. These professionals included representatives of the Sudanese community.
