This paper seeks initial views in relation to design options for a national NFP regulator. It does not seek to address issues which have previously been examined by recent reviews and inquiries. During the 2010 election campaign the Government outlined its commitment to reform Australia's NFP sector to deliver smarter regulation, reduce red-tape and improve the transparency and accountability of the sector. The Government has tasked Treasury with undertaking a scoping study to determine the role, functions, feasibility and design options for a 'one-stop shop' NFP regulator.
