Cataloguer's description: The focus of the Centre for Research on Social Inclusion's research includes examining the social, economic, political and cultural determinations of inclusion and exclusion in the context of globalisation. The Centre's studies cover alienation, dependency, racism and crime; the social divisions of gender, sexuality, class, race, ethnicity, disability, age; inclusion, democracy and the requirements of justice, particularly the rights of minorities; the rights and obligations of inclusion, in relation to refugees and migrants, and demands for recognition in multicultural societies including indigenous peoples.
