This paper reports on an evaluation of the project. It aimed to demonstrate to industry, government and the community sector the potential to create jobs from savings generated through improved environmental management, to reduce waste and energy consumption in the BSL, to generate savings from improved environmental management and to create jobs in the organisation. From 1994 through to early 1995 a proposal was developed under the auspices of the Future of Work Project. Between November 1995 and May 1996 three JobSkills trainees were placed in the organisation. From May to December 1996 a voluntary cross-organisational body, the Environment Task Group attempted to follow up the recommendations of the environmental audit document. This group folded by the end of that year
