Based in Melbourne, but with programs and services throughout Australia, the Brotherhood is working for a better deal for disadvantaged people. It undertakes research, service development and delivery, and advocacy, with the objective of addressing unmet needs and translating learning into new policies, programs and practices for implementation by government and others. The authors are Fatoumata Diallo Roost, Senior Research Officer, Nicky McColl Jones, Research Officer, Malita Allan, Research Officer, and Eric Dommers, Senior Research Manager, in the Early Years and Community transition team in the Brotherhoods Research and Policy Centre.
